Mount Tremper Arts Mission Statement

The central mission of Mount Tremper Arts, Inc (MTA) is to provide a cultural center to support contemporary artists in the creation and presentation of new works of art.  This mission is reflected in the following goals:

i) To support and produce the Mount Tremper Arts Festival, an annual summer festival celebrating the contemporary arts through the integration of performances, exhibitions, artist residencies, and educational programming.  Set amid the pristine setting of the Catskill Mountains, the festival promotes local tourism while acting as a laboratory for contemporary artists.

ii) Provide space and time for artists to create new works of art and explore aesthetic questions through an Artist-In-Residence program.

iii) To sustain the artistic work and vision of the founders, Aynsley Vandenbroucke and Mathew Pokoik in the performing and visual arts.

iv) Create an artistic environment where creative risk taking and intellectual curiosity is fostered and encouraged.
