Jim Findlay -Dream of the red chamber Saturday July 7 7:00 pm - 1:00 am / FREE Opening Store Performance

Dream of the Red Chamber: a performance for a sleeping audience invites you on a trip through your own dreams. Based on the 18th century Chinese epic novel by Cao Xuequin, this ingenious installation aims to bend the boundaries of durational performance, narrative, and consciousness with a series of parallel worlds—all contained inside your head. Come and doze as you please; there are no fixed ends or beginnings to the performance.

Jim Findlay works as a writer, director, award-winning designer, and performer with a constellation of theater, performance, and music artists. He was a founding member and primary collaborator in both Collapsable Giraffe and the music/media performance company Accinosco (with Cynthia Hopkins). Findlay was a resident associate artist at The Wooster Group from 1994 to 2003. His most recent work, Botanica, premiered in February 2012 at 3LD Art & Technology in NYC.

“Sex, drugs, and… botany? Plants will never seem the same after Jim Findlay’s BOTANICA, an original, mesmerizing, and disturbing piece of experimental insanity.”
