Location and Visiting
Mount Tremper Arts is located within the Catskill Park, minutes from the villages of Phoenicia and Woodstock and a little over two hours from New York City. The Catskill Mountains offer numerous recreational activities, such as hiking the High Peaks, tubing the Esopus Creek, or cycling our scenic mountain passes. More information about local activities can be found at Ulster County Tourism.
Season tickets are available for $95 and are good for all Festival events between July 11 - August 23, 2014. Buy them at our Box office by cash or check, or by credit card here:
The Summer Festival box office opens one hour before events. Tickets are $20 in advance and at the door. All events start at 8:00 pm; late seating is at the discretion of MTA and may not be possible for all performances. Advanced ticket purchase is advised as seating is limited. There is no reserved seating.
Audience Writing Tickets
For all events, two free audience writing tickets are available. An integral part of our programming, writing tickets offer audience members the chance to join the creative dialogue by writing a personal reflection of an event to be posted on our website. Contact Artistic Director, Mathew Pokoik for information or to reserve a writing ticket.
Every summer, MTA hosts volunteer artists, arts professionals, and students on our Catskills campus for one-week periods to assist with Summer Festival production. Housing, dinners with resident artists and MTA staff, and free entry to performances are provided in return for about 24 hours of event, residency, and related support. We are also looking for additional volunteers to help out at individual Festival events—in exchange for a free performance ticket. For more information on volunteer opportunities at MTA, contact Artistic Director Mathew Pokoik for more information.
Performance Space Info
The performance space is a white box theatre and seating consists of simple chairs, stools, and floor cushions. To protect the dance floor, the MTA studio is a shoeless environment.
